This Privacy Policy explains how kamsinkaneko.com (“this site,” “I,” “me”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit or interact with the site. I’m based in Singapore and am the data controller for the information described below. Because visitors come from around the world, this policy is written to meet the requirements of Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, for visitors in the UK/EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data is collected and why

Comments — If you leave a comment, the comment text, your name, email address, and IP address may be stored to help identify spam. Your Gravatar profile picture may display if you use an email address registered with Gravatar.

Website analytics — This site uses Google Analytics 4, implemented through Site Kit by Google, to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, general location, device and browser type). Analytics uses cookies and shares data with Google as described in Google’s own privacy policy. Where required, cookie consent is requested before analytics cookies are set.

Newsletter and freebie sign-up — If you sign up for updates or a free download via a sign-up form on this site, your email address (and any name you provide) is collected and stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email platform used to manage the list and deliver downloads automatically. Kit is based in the United States; signing up means consenting to your data being processed there. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email you receive.

Substack newsletter — Where this site links to or embeds a sign-up box for Paying Attention on Substack, any sign-up there is collected and processed directly by Substack under Substack’s own privacy policy. This site does not receive or store that information.

Affiliate links — This site contains occasional affiliate links (for example, to Hostinger). If you click through and purchase, the third party may collect standard transactional and analytics data under its own privacy policy, and a small commission may be earned. See the Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Future print store — Once the print store launches, purchasing will require a name, shipping address, and payment details. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; this site does not store card details. This policy will be updated with full details before the store goes live.

Your rights
