Paying attention to what’s easy to miss.

I’m drawn to overlooked details, sacred spaces, and the everyday rituals through which communities express belief and identity in the material world.

My photography is documentary in approach, contemplative in register, and shaped by years spent looking closely at art and objects: from my early love of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, especially Van Gogh, to my work now as a volunteer guide at Singapore’s Asian Civilisations Museum. I’m a writer and photographer, currently based in Singapore, after most of my adult life in Japan.
